May 17, 2009: STGC & ALPHA Classes of 1959 to celebrate 50 years at Reunion in Kingston
The StGC Class of 1959 will be having a reunion in Jamaica later this month, and are teaming up with the Alpha 1959 graduates for the celebrations. Many Georgians from the fifties and sixties would know these guys. Anyone can attend some of the events to renew acquaintances, which will be especially delightful in the case of a number of them who now live abroad and are coming home to celebrate. Specially recommended is the Saturday night session with Bunny Goodison's disco. In addition to vintage music at that session, they are hoping to have a peanut vendor with his coal oven, an oyster vendor, a snowball vendor etc.Further information is available on their web site at stgc59.askaccessible.com

Kemal Malcolm, who scored St George's lone goal when they lost the first leg game 2-1 at Constant Spring last Wednesday, was the hero for the Neville 'Bertis' Bell-coached team yesterday, scoring two well-taken goals in the eighth and 12th minutes.
"The game plan was to hit them (St James) early, and we did with those two goals," said coach Bell, who has now added the Olivier Shield to his coaching résumé. "St James played quite well, especially in the second half, but the size of the field suited our style and we made it count." Read the rest ...
Dec 18, 2008: Annual Calabar High School Alumni Soccer Tournament 2008

Calabar “A” team, Calabar “B” team, Excelsior, STGC, Campion, Knox, Meadowbrook, JC and KC .
STGC was the only team to win all 4 games leading up to the finals of the tournament, so we went into the finals as the #1 seed to play the #2 seed Calabar “A” team. After a very good battle for the entire game between both teams, the end of regulation time came and the score was tied at 0-0. A decision was made by the Calabar committee to skip the extra overtime period and to go straight into a penalty shootout situation due to time constraints.
The penalty kick shootout was extremely exciting and nerve-racking for all the spectators and players. Each penalty kick was greeted with some kind of nervous sound release. Eventually Calabar’s “A” team won the penalty shootout by 1-0 after using the 5 penalty kick format.
Congratulations to Calabar, however be aware that we will be back next year seeking to capture the winning trophy.
