Dec 15, 2009: Executive Board Changes
On Saturday, December 12, 2009 a General Meeting was held to determine the new Board Members of the St. George’s College Old Boy’s Association of Florida. Trevor Palmer (Speedy) was re-elected as President and Wayne Evans was re-elected as Vice President.
Jermaine McCarthy was elected as the new Secretary. Jermaine comes to us with a strong systems development background and he was largely responsible for the new STGCFL website. Rudy Tameka (Tumpa) was elected as the new Treasurer. Rudy has a background in finance and holds a CPA.
Concurrent with the election of the new Executive Board members Patrick Hugh stepped down as the past Secretary, Dennis Lawton stepped down as the past Treasurer and Paul Mayne stepped down as the fundraising Vice President. On the behalf of the Board Members of the STGCOBAFL, I want to extend our gratitude for the support that these individuals provided during the past two years in their respective roles as Executive Board members. Your contributions are certainly duly noted and we appreciate and look forward to your continued support as we venture on moving the organization forward in accomplishing its goals.
Sincerely,
Trevor Palmer
President, STGCOBAFL

Nov 13, 2009: Annual General Meeting!
The primary purpose of this general meeting is to elect new members to the board and also the executive board. FYI, it is necessary that you are current with your dues to be able to vote at this meeting, so if you are not (or are unsure) please contact Dennis Lawton and arrange to take care of the matter.
I know that this is very close to the holidays, however, I am asking that you make an extra attempt to attend the meeting so we may begin to move forward with our new team commencing January 2010.
Best Regards,
Trevor ‘Speedy’ Palmer

May 17, 2009: STGC & ALPHA Classes of 1959 to celebrate 50 years at Reunion in Kingston
The StGC Class of 1959 will be having a reunion in Jamaica later this month, and are teaming up with the Alpha 1959 graduates for the celebrations. Many Georgians from the fifties and sixties would know these guys. Anyone can attend some of the events to renew acquaintances, which will be especially delightful in the case of a number of them who now live abroad and are coming home to celebrate. Specially recommended is the Saturday night session with Bunny Goodison's disco. In addition to vintage music at that session, they are hoping to have a peanut vendor with his coal oven, an oyster vendor, a snowball vendor etc.Further information is available on their web site at stgc59.askaccessible.com
